If you are an employee, customer, visitor, student, schoolchild, patient or member of the public then the chances are is the floor you have slipped or tripped on was owned by either a public or private body and they have responsibility to ensure the floors (pavements and and roads) are safe for the circumstances they will be used for.

Do you want advice and to make an accident compensation claim?

Then contact FloorSlip For Slip Injury Advice

Don’t delay, the longer you leave a claim the less likely it is you will win a slip injury claim

Did the floor you slipped on look like any of these below?

If they are shiny then the likelihood when wet is they WILL ALL FAIL PENDULUM TESTING – which categorically proves for the UK Courts of law if a floor was safe or not

slippery when wet sign on wet floor does not eliminate owners from their responsibilities for floor safetyFloor Test 1

Dry Pendulum Value - 55

Wet Pendulum Test Value - 12

Chance of slip - less than 1 in 10 - that is 1 in every 10 people are liable to slip and maybe fall - remember it should be 1 in one million

shiny wet floor causes slip injury claims.png

Floor Test 2

Dry Pendulum Test Value - 70

Wet Pendulum Test Value - 10

Chance of slip - also less than 1 in 10

A  Floor MUST have a minimum Slip Resistance Value (Pendulum Test Value) of 36 when wet to provide a 1 in 1 million chance of slip and avoid slip injury

Did you have the wrong sort of shoes on to cause the slip injury?

worn shoes used to blame for slip injury compensation claim.pngThis is an excuse that owners and managers use all the Time – They try to claim because your shoes are worn, or stilettos or the ‘wrong type’ that it is YOUR FAULT that you slipped on their poorly maintained and slippery floor – IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT

Employers and Managers must ensure they check floors meet the minimum HSE defined Pendulum Test Value of 36 when wet, dry or contaminated with substances relevant to that environment REGARDLESS OF SHOE TYPE*

Did you not see the sign at the entrance to shop or restaurant stating you had to wear non slip shoes?

Perosnal Injury Claim caused by wearing wrong shoes

Excuse the pun but Employers, Owners and Managers do not have a leg to stand on using the lame excuse that you were wearing the wrong shoes*

*Unless they are employees working  in an area where it has been defined that shoes of a specific type must be worn and then specific PPE / non slip shoes must be supplied and maintained with sufficient anti slip properties and in good condition by the employers)

The 'wrong shoes' blamed for slip injury claim

Maybe there could be another Wallace and Grommit film called “The Wrong Shoes!”

Didn’t  you see the slippery floor sign? Those responsible will tell you It must be your fault you had a slip injury accident when they had put up a sign!!

Slippery Floor Sign is an admission of liability for a slip injury claim

WHAT UTTER RUBBISH ! - A sign of any description is NOT an excuse in failing to provide safe floors in the first place - In fact - It might be argued that sign that says ‘SLIPPERY FLOOR’ is an admission of liability

GET A PHOTO OF IT! We do know of cases where floor surfaces are changed for non slip floors and floor coatings after a slip injury accident to try and avoid paying for a slip injury claim!

Under wet FLOOR circumstances a person is likely to slip (example when a spill has occurred or where it is being mopped) then if that floor can NOT pass a Pendulum Test when wet (or contaminated) then persons - including employees should not be able to walk on that floor; it should be cordoned off until it is dried. But the very fact is the floor should be safe for any the circumstances it will be used for and a sign is as meaningful as the poor attitude to health and safety in not providing a safe floor in the first place.

I’m Old, Young, Disabled, Stressed, On Medicine, Pregnant - It must be my fault I slipped on the floor and hurt myself!

Businesses try to use signs as excuse for not maintaining floors correctlyOf course - how inconsiderate of you to be anything but perfect on the day you slipped over.

More RUBBISH  it’s a fact of life that the young's developing limbs don't always coordinate properly; the elderly aren’t as nimble; the sick might be on medication and diabetics struggle with balance - That is no excuse for owner, manager or employer to blame you for them not providing safe floors - Floors must be safe against slip injury accidents in all circumstances

Perosnal Injury Slip Claim after slip on Wet FloorYou can make an injury claim or accident claim for anything from a work accident, industrial injury, or slip or fall through to asbestos disease (Mesothelioma) or clinical negligence. And if you or a family member has had a car accident resulting in whiplash, head or brain injury, and a whole host of other accident and injury claim types then you can make a claim.

It’s all about Negligence and the government’s failure to enforce Health and Safety rules and to tighten up on Floor Safety

There are 4.5 million businesses in the UK band only about 15,000 personal injury lawyers –  But 60% of our business is for Injury lawyers -  why is that?

It’s simply because BUSINESSES THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH NOT TESTING – THEY CAN NOT, SHOULD NOT and WILL NOT – If you make that claim for a slip injury and NOW

Contact us NOW and let us help you with your accident compensation claim

Remember - Don’t Hesitate

The longer you leave it the more chance of the floor being corrected for and the incident ‘covered up’ before we can Pendulum Test It!
